Magic > Nature
If you are in Portland please visit False Front to see Magic > Nature, a show that I have some work from Alaska in!

Artists:
John Bohl (Baltimore, MD)
Lauren Marie Cherry (Los Angeles, CA)
Tia Factor (Portland, OR)
Lauren Payne (Chicago, IL)
Kendra Larson (Portland, OR)
Hermonie Only (Baltimore, MD)
Andrew Rogers (San Francisco, CA)
Ian Waite (Portland, OR)
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog featuring the work of:
Jonathan Allen (New York, NY)
Casey Droege (Pittsburgh, PA)
Bronwen Tate (Berkeley, CA)
Science examines and has largely demystified the universe: Despite this, many artists seek to represent the world as one filled with spirituality and secret, hidden meanings. Drawing on the lost symbolic languages of pseudo-sciences, synthetic colors and mimetic natural environments, these artists pick up the remnants of our disenchanted world and seek to assemble new truths and speak to our desire to have our world re-enchanted. MAGIC > NATURE is a grimoire of re-mystification.
Curated by Michael Endo and Emily Nachison
Dates:
November 5 – 30, 2011
Opening Reception: Saturday, November 5 (6 – 10PM)
Viewing Hours: Saturdays and Sundays (12 – 3PM) and by appointment
Performance: Sunday, November 20 (TBA)
